Clinical Trial – Narcolepsy or Idiopathic Hypersomnia
People with Narcolepsy or Idiopathic Hypersomnia needed for a research study on an approved drug for Excessive Daytime Sleepiness!
We are looking for patients with all of the following:
– Diagnosed narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnia
– Excessive daytime sleepiness
– Age between 18 and 75
– No serious medical or psychiatric disorder
– No untreated sleep apnea
– Not taking any medicines that can make you sleepy or able to stop such medicines for a few months
If patients are using stimulant medicines and are still very sleepy during the day, they may continue the stimulant medicines. If the stimulant medicines are controlling the sleepiness, they will have to stop the stimulant medicines for the study.
The study will test a medicine known to reduce sleepiness in patients with Idiopathic Hypersomnia or Narcolepsy. It is an open label study, so all patients will get active medicine.
If you qualify, there will be up to 6 office visits, 2-3 overnight visits, and 8 telephone calls.
Compensation for time and expenses of up to $3500-4400 may be available for those who qualify and participate.
